   "Makiparagsak, Inatayon Ilocos Sur". This dubbed as the campaign to invite other to come and celebrate Kannawidan festival. Kannawidan festival is unsual festival that celebrates founding anniversary, at the last week of January and every secong week of February we ilocanos celebrate Kannawidan festival and being separated and independent from Ilocos Norte. The word Kannawidan comes from the tawid. Its English translation means tradition, legacy, or heritage. It marks the historic establishment of the province during Spanish times. Kannawidan Ylocos was first launched within the term of Deogracias Victor Savellano in 2008. It was started to promote awareness and preservation of the local culture, tradition, heritage, and customs. It was also an opportunity to showcase local products, artistry, and craftsmanship. Moreover, it was also created to boost the local tourism industry.

    The purpose of celebratring this significant festival in Ilocos, we Ilocanos just not making our place significantly but we trully make history. We offer our delicasies in each municipality of Ilocos Sur and we show our traditions, culture and even our heritage that we could offer to the world. And we Ilocanos is the reason why the country Philippines keeps coming back for more. But as the years past by, our provincial government change the famous name of our very own Kannawidan festival, but if it is the name has changed we still celebrate the remarkable, significant, historical and culmitaning the richness of One Ilocos Sur.

    As a Ilocano, I will always taught myself to promote, and share on what my province has to offer and i will be proud to call Ilocos Sur as my home and I will always proudly call my self as Ilocano.
