   The celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Month 2024 really strives to protect and advocate the rights and culture of indigenous Filipinos. The theme "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalana," meaning Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge, marks the critical gift of indigenous peoples to the nation while calling on Filipinos to accept the human rights of all.

    This is to recognize that indigenous peoples have rights over their ancestral domains, autonomy, the preservation of cultures. This is also for the call of greater awareness and understanding as experienced by indigenous peoples on their struggles and victories. Activities and events ranging from cultural festivals, performances, seminars, and campaigns will be provided by the indigenous organizations, civil society groups, and government agencies.

    This celebration would also promote unity and understanding between the indigenous and the non-indigenous for they recognize the importance of the indigenous peoples in nation-building. This celebration also ensures that the heritage of indigenous Filipinos is kept alive longaevitas by ensuring its preservation for future generations.
